Nov 20, 2023

One Dereham man is forever blowing bubbles - but today they are the biggest they’ve been in 43 years.

Colin Spillman floated into work after watching his beloved West Ham clinch European glory last night (June 7) after his side beat Fiorentina 2-1 with a last-minute goal from Jarrod Bowen.

Mr Spillman, who owns Rasher Snack Bar on Rash's Green Industrial Estate is a lifelong fan and marked to the occasion by providing his own bubble machine to the business to send the trademark symbol of The Irons high across the region.

"I’m feeling absolutely on cloud nine, l was 14 when we last won a cup, so it is just incredible," he said.

"I’ve got my shirt on, the flag is up and the bubble machine is going, but I don't want upset too many Norwich fans though."

Mr Spillman, who created the iconic ‘Fatboy’ challenge, watched the match at home with fellow West Ham fans, which erupted when the 90th-minute goal went in, winning the London club their first trophy since the 1980 FA Cup when they beat Arsenal 1-0 thanks to a Trevor Brooking goal.
