The Treatery After Dark is Jamesport's new spot for late

In a cozy alley adorned with string lights and greenery, Ursula XVII of Disset Chocolate and Christina Padrazo of The Treatery (1564 Main Rd, Jamesport) have begun serving up small bites to hungry locals and visitors through their newest culinary collaboration, ‘The Treatery After Dark.’
Every Sunday and Monday starting at 7 p.m., the popular Jamesport bakeshop will bring a slice of the sleepy downtown to life with energizing music and a rotating menu of farm fresh finger foods and sweets.
Launched on June 4, the new initiative is the brainchild of Ursula XVII and Padrazo. Best friends and catering business partners, they saw ‘The Treatery After Dark’ as an opportunity to extend their culinary efforts to the bakeshop and create a welcoming environment for industry professionals and those seeking a place to gather with friends in the late evening — a time when many other North Fork businesses are closed for the day.
"In the Industry, when we’re done from the weekend, we’re tired, and we just want to have good food," explained Ursula XVII, a renowned artisanal chocolatier with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants in the United States and in Europe.
From sophisticated snacks like warm olives and creamy burrata focaccia to childhood-inspired sweets like ice cream bars and mini cookies, ‘The Treatery After Dark’ is a place where Michelin meets mainstream.
"We have reliable staples on the menu, but we’re inspired by the bounty that is on the North Fork," explained Ursula XVII.
Supporting the local farming community, they source fresh produce from farms such as Sang Lee Farms, Treiber Farms, and 1760 Homestead Farm. The duo has been getting creative with seasonal vegetables, serving small plates like their vegetable crudité served with fresh roasted asparagus dip, local veggies and naan. Their menu also features a Pica-Pica section — a phrase commonly used in Barcelona to describe a meal similar to tapas — where customers can order a chef's choice sampling of sweet or savory bites.
Though indoor seating is available, a highlight of the experience is sitting outdoors in ‘the garden,’ a narrow alleyway adjacent to the bakeshop that's decked out in potted plants and wooden bistro tables.
"It's like a little hidden gem," said Padrazo. "Nobody would know it's here."
