NWS Cheyenne: Cold, Rainy Weather Here to Stay (For Now)

If you wish the rain, rain would go away, don't expect your wish to come true anytime soon.

According to the Climate Prediction Center, a branch of the National Weather Service, southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle are expected to see below-normal temperatures and above-normal precipitation through at least June 19.

The silver lining? The NWS in Cheyenne says, "This wet pattern will definitely help drop drought conditions across the area the next few weeks."

5/1030PM: Greetings! A wet forecast continues for southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle, according to the Climate Prediction Center's 6-10 day outlook. Expect colder temperatures to continue as well with this wet pattern. Wet conditions continue in the 8-14 Day Outlook as well, so expect above normal precipitation through at least 19 June 2023. On a positive note, we needed this rain to get rid of a persistent drought we have been experiencing the past couple years. This wet pattern will definitely help drop drought conditions across the area the next few weeks.

8pm, June 5th- Tuesday looks to be very similar to Monday, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms west of I-25. Skies will clear out overnight across Southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle before increasing in coverage throughout the afternoon. Skies over Nebraska should remain mostly sunny and temperatures will be slightly warmer across the entire region.
